Sold!
Andretti - 2017, 16 hand gelding by Bernardini. Andretti is a wonderful partner that wants to please. Excellent work ethic, AWESOME lead change, and plenty of step. Has been out and about to local shows over the summer and fall. Typical Bernardini personality, totally kind and mellow, but not lazy. Jumping 2'-2'6 courses with a lead change. I know people use the term "three ring prospect" loosely, but I believe this horse could play in all three rings. He is suitable for a teenager/amateur working with a trainer. No stall vices. Loads and ties.

The catch: Andretti has a condylar repair from his racing days. He is completely sound and my vet feels strongly that this should not limit him in the future, as he raced on this repair. Per my vets words, "the surgical repair is beautiful." Happy to share radiographs of the repair with interested parties. For more on condylar repairs, here is a nice article.

Sold! Congrats to Anne and Chris for the acquisition of Vito!
Don Vito Corleone -
2016 Midshipman gelding. BIG, tall, athletic gelding. This horse was actually a heck of a racehorse, winning a MSW in big company. However, he bowed a tendon, and although never lame, his connections decided it was time for him to pursue other careers. I have given him 6 months off since leaving the racetrack. He is still a pretty keen type, and I think would very much appreciate having a job. He is sound on the bow and it is cold. He has been barefoot and with the changing seasons, presents as a tad footy at the moment, but nothing that can't be fixed with shoes. He is a hardy, old school type thoroughbred. I think he would excel in jumping disciplines. He seems like he will be a pretty serious competitor with the right partner. He has three post-track rides. RRP eligible for 2022. No stall vices.

Grand Tour -
Unraced 2019 Uncle Mo gelding out of a Bernardini mare. This gelding is sweet as pie. He is like a giant golden retriever. But he is a baby horse and will need someone with patience to show him the right ways in life. He has just been hanging out and eating hay, but he is available to a qualified home. Price will increase in the spring with training. He has the thicker, warmblood body type that everyone is looking for. No stall vices.

Special Day
- 2017, 16 hand gelding by Tiznow (The Big Horse). This guy has one of the cutest personalities. He's kind and fun, yet not a complete "dead head". I hang out with him in the stall a bunch because he's just so fun to be around. I have a complete set of clean x-rays on file for this horse. While his connections thought he wasn't competitive enough on the track, he was a useful racehorse and still earned $45,000. They brought him home and shot film of everything, hoping to find an excuse, but all they found were clean images! Thus, they decided to retire him.

He is going to be a straight forward restart. Video is of his first ride off the track. Barefoot and sound. He has a lot of filling out to do as a coming 4 year old, but all the raw materials are here! He is nice and forward, with a natural lead change. Mild cribber, especially after meal time. Controlled with a collar.

Atmospheric
- "Pancho" is a 2016, 16.3 hand gelding by Orb. He sold for $650,000 as a yearling. He has been off the track for over a year and a half. He has many local horse shows, hunter paces, trail rides, and group outings under his belt. Loads and ties like an old pro. He is currently showing in the 2' beginner horse division at shows quite competitively (reserve champion his last outing). He is ready to move up to the 2'6 ring with his next person. He has the scope and step to make a lovely children's/AA horse. He was competitive at the RRP thoroughbred makeover in 2019. Of note, he scored well in the trail competition, which includes a number of tough obstacles. He has a quality canter that produces a quality jumping effort. He has no stall vices or soundness concerns. Loves being turned out with his other gelding buddies.

Astaire -  Astaire is a 16 hand, 2017 gelding by Tapit. He was retired by Godolphin after one disappointing race. He is sound on clean legs. This horse is an incredibly athletic looking-type. He could go in any direction. He moves well enough for the hunter ring, but look athletic enough to be an upper-level eventer. The sky is the limit for this one! He has had 60 days of turnout since leaving the race track. He was gelded in late June. He enjoys being groomed. He is a bit foot sore since pulling his racing plates, but is getting less ouchy with time. This horse seems like he would be suitable for a first restart or for an amateur/teenager working closely with a trainer. Pedigree can be found here.

Satin Sword - "Apollo" is a true 17 hand gelding, 2016 gelding. This guy is often mistaken for a warmblood given his solid build. His impulsion is truly remarkable for a young thoroughbred. He has a year+ of restarting under his belt. He has spent lots of time off property schooling. He is a no-nonsense kind of guy. He is fancy enough for straight dressage, athletic enough for eventing, and quiet enough for the hunter ring. He is currently going WTC, and jumping small courses. He has been restarted correctly and has no baggage. Hacks out alone, trail rides, a good all-around type.

Has clean pre-purchase exam on file with foot radiographs.

Pedigree can be found here. Price range: Lower $$$

Saving Tin - "Tinny" is a 16 hand, 2014 gelding. He was retired by his racing connections sound in 2018 (clean PPE at this time). He was just too slow to make it on the track. After being retired, Tinny went into a professional program at a hunter/jumper barn. He was in full training for two years. He has a solid education and foundation. His flat work is lovely. He currently jumping 2'- 2'6 courses with a lead change. He has been to one local horse show, but is ready to do more! He is great off property and a dream to haul. He would be totally suitable for a teenager or a timid adult. Slow footed and super quiet. Pedigree can be found here. Price range: $$$

Farm Visits

Picture
We welcome prospective buyers to the farm to try horses. If you are putting together a trip to Lexington from out of town, we love playing tour guide and helping guests put together a schedule for their trip. If you want to try as many horses as possible, we often coordinate with local trainers at other farms to set up trials for clients. This allows the client to sit on as many horses as possible while in town. While in horse country, we encourage guests to take advantage of farm tours, local restaurants, and Keeneland!

If you want to see some of the premier stallions that stand in central KY while in town, Horse Country provides high quality tours of local breeding sheds. This experience is so fun, especially if you are considering an OTTB by one of these stallions!
